The former office building has been converted into administrative space, and the former warehouse into academic space.

This new space consists of a board room, president’s suite, collaboration spaces, classrooms, labs, offices, training areas, food service, dining room, conference center, multi-purpose room, skylights, stairwells, elevators, lecture hall, atrium, new lobby addition and canopy, parking, exterior improvements, as well as accessory and support spaces. All new doors, frames, hardware, partitions, flooring, ceiling, walls, finishes, and mechanical systems are provided. The warehouse building has been expanded with a new structural steel second floor. Remedial foundation work was required to support the added weight from the second floor.

Construction documents were completed on a challenging schedule to allow the College to occupy the spaces by the start of the academic year. In order to meet the Owner’s needs, this required a condensed design and construction document schedule that required many overtime hours. Drawings and Specifications were being completed even while spaces were being designed. Meetings were held weekly to facilitate quick decisions and coordination between the various team members including the Owner's facilities team, academic leaders, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical consultants, and specialty consultants including Food Service, Audio Visual, and Hardware.

As part of the fast-moving schedule, Greenfield collaborated with the General Contractor to prepare estimates during design and CDOCS so the Owner could make value decisions. As part of the design team’s innovative role, they implemented a Google Drive platform that made coordinating and sharing documents quick and easy, as well as organized and timely information.
