Facility: New Parking Garage
Size: 111,000 SF, 360 spaces
Location: Millersville, PA
Services/Scope Provided: Architectural Design
At the corner of North Prince Street and West Cottage Avenue in Millersville, PA, Greenfield Architects, LTD. was selected to provide design services for a 360-space precast concrete parking garage. This garage is constructed of pre-cast concrete superstructures, cast-in-place concrete foundation walls, and conventional spread footings. Featured in the design are light and heavy sand-blasted precast concrete spandrel panels, precast concrete column covers with thin-set brick veneer insets, as well as a glass-enclosed stair tower.
Located adjacent to the University's baseball stadium, the garage plan takes advantage of the sloped site to provide upper and lower entrances and exits. Induction lighting systems, power, and HVAC were provided for the mechanical/electrical rooms. Millersville University's security systems were integrated into the project and additional glass enclosures were provided for pedestrian comfort and access. The project also involves reconfiguring adjacent streets and pedestrian access.
